I’ve been to many Vietnamese and Cambodian restaurants in the major cities of the world and I have to say that Au Coin des Gourmets is among the very best. It’s home cooking at its very best, the kind that makes you remember your favorite childhood dishes—that is, if you had a grandmother that knew her way around Vietnamese/Cambodian cooking. One example: their steamed sea bass looks so simple and tastes divine—ginger, scallion, soy sauce, a few black beans, and steam. But try making this at home; you won’t come close. There is much subtlety and art underlying this master chef’s cuisine and clearly a lot of love. If I lived in Paris, I would ask for a meal plan at Au Coin des Gourmets! Last time I visited the city for three days, I ate four meals at this little hidden gem! It’s THAT good.
